What would you like your legacy to be? How would you like to be remembered? I’m sure you’d like people to think of you with affection or maybe as someone who made positive changes to people’s lives or even to our world.
We can’t all be fantastic musicians, artists, biologists, inventors or discoverers of miraculous cures but we can all be people of integrity. Someone others know they can trust. An honest person. A person who considers others rather than being driven by self interest.
What drives you? Is it the pursuit of personal glory, money or the need to dominate others? Are you absolutely sure you know what’s best not just for you but for the people affected by the decisions you make? Is being the one with the power to decide the only thing important to you?
I ask these questions because if you are people of integrity something has gone badly awry. You make me despair because you have influence over my life, the people I care about and our world. You dominate and use your power for your own advantage.
Take a good hard look in the mirror and instead of seeing the amazing person you usually see ask yourself how you’re going to become a person worth remembering.
