Last year I saw a post showing a delightful “Christmas Cactus” AKA Zygocactus. Mine is flowering now so I figure it must be one of those “Christmas in July” events.

I’m a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, auntie and friend. I prefer to be outside and am interested in photography, nature and different cultures. I believe everything on this earth has a right to be here but some things and some people would be happiest if their space was far away from mine. (Flies and biting bugs take note!) I don’t like housework and think dust is Nature’s way of saying, “This is my space, I was here first.”

I’ve never had much luck with Christmas Cactus, but this one is beautiful! Good to know the Latin name.
I think mine is simply a survivor, it doesn’t get any special treatment so I guess it just loves the spot it’s in. 🙂
That is absolutely beautiful. Even moreso seeing as mine looks like death warmed over at this time of the year. Lol.
Mine grows under a pergola with twice daily micro sprays on it during summer but we’ve had rain recently so none of that just now. I bought it as a favour from a neighbour who was moving interstate about 30 years ago. It is certainly happy to just get on with life without any indulgence. 🙂
