My Writing

I’ve never stopped to think whether I like my writing! When I write about our travels responses often show that others have enjoyed reading the posts and they often share experiences. That gives me a buzz. Knowing that my grandchildren are enjoying reading about things I’ve done over the last 70 years has also given me satisfaction.

One thing I do like about my writing is the relief I feel when I “Let off steam”! A few years ago I was so angry at our Prime Minister of the time that I wrote a poem. It helped me but unfortunately two Australian citizens were shot overseas because of his posturing.

After a very unsatisfactory hospital procedure about a year ago I wrote it out of my system. When Mum died I simply couldn’t speak at her funeral but I was able to write about some incidents in our lives and it brought a few laughs when my brother read it out. When Dad was to leave hospital and an appropriate place needed to be found for him I was too emotional to speak at the placement meeting but I was able to present a letter explaining my worries.

I like that my writing stays solid when I go to jelly!

I’m a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, auntie and friend. I prefer to be outside and am interested in photography, nature and different cultures. I believe everything on this earth has a right to be here but some things and some people would be happiest if their space was far away from mine. (Flies and biting bugs take note!) I don’t like housework and think dust is Nature’s way of saying, “This is my space, I was here first.”

Does this ring any bells with you?
