Living Boldly

I can’t really get into this topic, as soon as I try to think about “bold” a funny little Scottish ditty comes into my mind. I heard it many times when I was living in Scotland, this is my interpretation of the words:

My brither Bill’s a fireman bold,

He pits oot fires,

He’s only twenty fowr years old

He pits oot fires

He went tae fight a fire one night,

When somebody shouted, “Dynamite”

Where e’er he is

He’ll be awright

…He pits oot fires!

The Corries sang the ditty and there’s a rather blurry Claymation representing them here:

I’m a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, auntie and friend. I prefer to be outside and am interested in photography, nature and different cultures. I believe everything on this earth has a right to be here but some things and some people would be happiest if their space was far away from mine. (Flies and biting bugs take note!) I don’t like housework and think dust is Nature’s way of saying, “This is my space, I was here first.”

    1. I’m happy to hear that. I actually had my Scottish husband say it for me, it’s not his natural accent but it obviously worked well enough. 🙂

Does this ring any bells with you?
