I can’t really get into this topic, as soon as I try to think about “bold” a funny little Scottish ditty comes into my mind. I heard it many times when I was living in Scotland, this is my interpretation of the words:
My brither Bill’s a fireman bold,
He pits oot fires,
He’s only twenty fowr years old
He pits oot fires
He went tae fight a fire one night,
When somebody shouted, “Dynamite”
Where e’er he is
He’ll be awright
…He pits oot fires!
The Corries sang the ditty and there’s a rather blurry Claymation representing them here:
Funny when I was reading this I could hear the Irish Brogue in my head 😂.
I’m happy to hear that. I actually had my Scottish husband say it for me, it’s not his natural accent but it obviously worked well enough. 🙂
Worked for me!
