I don’t know how we avoid war in our house since one of us supports the idea of “A stitch in time saves nine” while the other opts for “Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow”. The latter is a corruption of an Abraham Lincoln quote, “Leave nothing for tomorrow which can be done today”!
My favourite today is one from George Bernard Shaw, “We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.”
I love this because it leaves the door open to having fun even as we get old so I can still scoot about on a kids’ trike, have a go on the Flying Fox, hide rubber snakes amongst the toilet rolls or drink an Icecream Spider.
